About Me

My photo
I am a native of New Orleans but currently live in the DC metro area. The things that I enjoy the most in life are photography, lending a helping a hand to those around me, traveling, cooking, and the taste of great wines. I believe that life should be lived out loud and that the greatest tradjedy is to not live your life to the absolute fullest and that you should do so without fear of failure to just simply try.

Favorite Motivation Book

The book that inspired me the most was Joel Osteen's Become A Better You. This book encouraged me to look deep within my soul and face the obstacles that keep me from achieving the "Best Me" that I can be.

The book outlines seven distinctive areas that we must focus on in order to improve our lives and to become a Victor over and not a Victim to our life circumstances. Joel explains that in order to Become A Better You, you must first understand that God wants you to become all that He created you to be. Second, God will fulfill his promises, but you must do your part. "Faith Without Work Is dead" (JAMES 2:14-26).

To Become A Better You, identifies the following seven steps:

  1. Keep pressing forward
  2. Be positive toward yourself
  3. Develop better relationships
  4. Form better habits
  5. Embrace the place where you are
  6. Develop your inner life
  7. Stay passionate about life

The book address each of these 7 principles and provide an in dept view of applying each of the steps into every day life. At the time that I read this book, I found that I was drowning in a world of sadness and depression. Too afraid to talk about my situation out of fear of being rejected or even worst judged. This book was a much needed life line and a very clear path out of a world of "victimhood" back to a path of Victory, God's Victory.

Each and every one of us deserve nothing but the best and it truly is God's desire that we all live a life of Victory, a life filled with God's Blessings. Believe that!

I encourage you to read Become A Better You and I gua-ran-tee (best Cajun accent) you will! What is your favorite Motivation Book?

Peace & Love,

Rae
